What's the Weather?
One of the first things we think about when we start our day is "What will the weather be like?" Here’s a great way to teach your child about the weather and find the answer! If you like this craft, check out our Paper Plate UFO craft which uses similar materials.
What You’ll Need:
*Crayons, markers, stickers, cotton balls
*Talk about different types of weather: sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, snowy, etc. During what seasons might you see some of these types of weather?
*Make your arrow clothespin by cutting out an arrow shape from the colored paper that is about the same length as your clothespin. Glue the arrow to the flat side of the clothespin, making sure that the point of the arrow is at the opening of the clothespin.
*Divide the paper plate into sections using a marker. For a younger child, we chose four weather types and divided our plate into four sections.
*Label each section with a type of weather.
*Draw what each of the weather type looks like. (We used cotton balls to show “cloudy”.)
*Take a look outside. Put the clothespin in the appropriate section on the paper plate. Now you are prepared to start your day!
*Send us a picture of your kids recording the weather we may post it to our site! email@example.com.
