*Large rock (looks for ones that are fairly flat)
*Green paper or craft foam
*Foam paint brushes
*Shoebox/construction paper/scissors, etc. (optional) for habitat
*Take a walk or go to the park and search for rocks.
*Talk about turtles. What do they look like? What do they eat? Where do they live?
*Paint the rocks and popsicle sticks green. Allow to dry. Use the black marker to add details to the turtle shell.
*Cut out a head shape from the green paper/craft foam. Add eyes, nose, and mouth with marker.
*Glue the popsicle sticks in an X shape to the bottom of the rock. Glue the head to the front, making sure the face is facing up.
