Tie Flower Pot & Candy Bouquet
This Father’s Day, make Dad something sweet, creative, and original! (Also, can be modified to make a great baby shower gift, teacher appreciation gift, or Mother’s Day gift!) If you like this craft, check out our Flower Pot Wind Chimes which also use flower pots.
What You’ll Need:
*Large green popsicle craft sticks (or plain sticks & green paint)
*12 of Dad’s favorite candy bars
*Clear packing tape
*Wash the outside of the flower pot, if necessary, and allow to dry.
*If using plain craft sticks, pain them green and allow to dry.
*Go outside and find a number of small stones/pebbles. You want them to fill about ¾ of the pot. (You can also find bags of decorative stones in most craft or floral departments.)
*Use a crayon to lightly outline the shape of a tie on your flower pot. Now paint the rest of the pot white, leaving the tie shape blank. Allow to dry.
*Use a brown or black paint to add the shirt collar and pocket details. Fill in the tie with a solid color. Allow to dry.
*Add stripes of another color.
*Fill the pot with the stones/pebbles you collected.
*Tape each candy bar to the popsicle stick so that about 2/3 of the stick is still showing.
*Arrange your candy flowers inside the flower pot.
*While you are working on the craft, talk with your kids about all the things Dad does for your family.
*Send us a picture of your kids and their tie flower pots for Dad and we may post it to our site! email@example.com.
