Pumpkin Pumpkin Story & Picture Frame Craft
Read the book Pumpkin Pumpkin by Jeanne Titherington and follow along as Jamie grows a pumpkin from a seed. Then have the kids make their own Jack-O-Lantern picture frame so they can hold on to their own special memories.
What You’ll Need:
*Pumpkin template, see attachment below
*Orange markers/crayons OR orange construction paper
*Black construction paper
*If you can, print out the template below on orange construction paper. If not, print it out on white card stock. Cut around the outside of the pumpkin. Cut out the mouth – this is where the picture will go.
*Read Pumpkin Pumpkin by Jeanne Titherington together. Talk about how the seed growns into a pumpkin and how the size of the seedling and then pumpkin changes in comparison to Jamie. Be sure to point out the wildlife on each page.
*If you printed the template on white paper, color it orange. Cut out eyes and a nose from the black construction paper and glue on.
*Turn the pumpkin over and tape your photo so you can see it through the mouth on the front of the pumpkin. Add a few stick-on magnets to the back.
*Send us a picture of your kids and their pumpkin picture frame we may post it to our site! email@example.com.
