License Plate Game
A great, educational way to keep kids busy while on a long road trip.
What You’ll Need:
*Print two copies of the map per child (one for the way there and one for the way back) at http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/pdf/outline/states.pdf
*Before your trip, it may help to have your children become more aware of US Geography. Use the blank map to show them where you live and where you are going. Go over the names and locations of the states so that they will be easier to find later on.
*As you are driving, watch the cars passing by or parked when you stop. Check what state each license plate comes from and use the highlighter to mark it off the map. See how many states you can get on the way there, versus on the way back!
