Will Your Groundhog See its Shadow?
Will you have an early spring or six more weeks of winter? Create your own groundhog and find out!
What You’ll Need:
*Groundhog template, see below (1 template makes 4 crafts)
*Crayons, markers, etc.
*Popsicle sticks (1 per craft)
*Print out a groundhog template – either the PDF OR MS Word versions below.
*Poke a hole in the center of the paper plate with the scissors.
*Have your child color in their groundhog. Cut the groundhog out.
*Glue the popsicle stick vertically to the bottom half of the groundhog. Allow to dry.
*Color the bottom side of the paper plate to make it look like grass.
*Poke the popsicle stick through the hole in the plate.
*Go outside and hold the popsicle stick under the plate. Does your groundhog see its shadow?
• Don’t forget to send us pictures of your groundhog! We’d love to see them and we may even post them on our site: email@example.com
