Make these adorable animal doorstops with just a few items you probably already have at home! We made caterpillars, but you can be creative and make any animal. Although they were intended for use with their bedroom doors, our kids loved playing with their new “pets”! If you like this activity, try our No Slip Socks -- another creative sock craft.
What You’ll Need:
*Knee High Socks
*Sewing Needle and Thread (optional)
*Pipe Cleaners (one per craft)
*Rice (about 1 and ½ bags per craft)
*Fill the sock with rice. A funnel will make this easier and less messy.
*Sew or glue shut the open end of the sock.
*To form the antennae for the caterpillar, gather one end to form the head and wrap the pipe cleaner around, twisting a few times. Glue on googly eyes.
*Now use as a doorstop…or as a new “pet”!
*Send us a picture of your kids and their animal doorstops we may post it to our site! firstname.lastname@example.org.
*The Very Hungry Caterpillar Book & Craft-- also from My Activity Maker
